The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Alhaji Abdullahi Dikko Inde has emerged the 2013 African Leadership Magazine Public Servant of the Year.

Abdullah, I was conferred with the award in recognition of excellence in public service and contribution to national development, at a ceremony in the United Kingdom (UK).

According to a statement signed by the Editor, African Leadership magazine, Sam Hart, Africa’s public servants have remained instrumental to the continent’s continued growth and the foundation upon which the Africa of the future is being built.

The statement noted that, although the issue of corruption is still prevalent in certain quarters, the values of the public service in Africa-which are professionalism, ethics and adoption of unique problem solving mechanisms in meeting the 21st century challenges of the workplace, must be maintained at all times for the continent to move forward.

The award which was presented by the Publisher and Chief Executive Officer of African Leadership, Dr. Ken Giami, was witnessed by the NCS top brass, and the National President of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents ANLCA), Prince Olayiwola Shittu, among others.
